The New Supreme Court Complex Competition

In September 2016, the Supreme Court of the Philippines issued an invitation for an international concept design competition for the new Supreme Court complex, to be located at Fort Bonifacio Global City. This site is triangular, with an area of 2.1 hectares. The competition called for various criteria, including Identity, Functionality, Security, Sustainability, Feasibility, and Innovation.
Our entry focused on finding a solution to overcome the challenges of a triangular shape site, resulting in three horizontal blocks, arranged at right angles. The right angles provided the context for the complex since the neighboring building were oriented in the same X and Y axis. The plaza and grand steps created a unique entrance and arrival experience to the entry.
A total of 68 entries were received.
